Samuel S. Giles, MD

Dr. Samuel Stephen Giles was born and raised in a small town in coastal Maine where he learned the importance of compassion which serves as his foundation for helping others. He studied biochemistry and human biology at the University of Southern Maine where he graduated Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science and subsequently earned his doctorate of Medicine (MD) at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. From there, he continued his medical training through an internship in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Massachusetts. 

This was followed by his Neurology residency at the University of Florida where he served as Chief Neurology Resident and was awarded the Golden Apple Teaching Award in addition to the Key Patient Advocate Award. He is board certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds a medical license in the state of Florida and Utah. 

Dr. Giles has participated in numerous opportunities to contribute to the basic science and medical literature through research fellowships throughout his training. Prior experiences have included time at Scripps Research Institute of Molecular Biology, the Harvard Medical Stem Cell Institute at the Center of Regenerative Medicine at Mass General Hospital, The Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, the Tufts University School of Medicine Department of Neuroanatomy; as well as others. 

Clinically, Dr. Giles has a special interest in Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease as well as the treatment of headache disorders including migraines; However, he enjoys treating patients with all neurological disorders. 

Dr. Giles is a co-founder and medical director at Memory Treatment Centers and have been appointed and serves on the state of Florida Alzheimer’s Advisory Committee. In his free time, Dr. Giles greatly enjoys spending time with his wife and four young children, traveling, fishing, watersports, cooking, playing guitar and piano, and values his involvement in his local church community.
