On September 28, 2022 Hurricane Ian made landfall as a category 4 hurricane in Southwestern Florida, predominantly impacting Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Lee and Sarasota counties.
Ian arrived in Florida with wind speeds of 150 mph and torrential rains that led to the devastation of critical infrastructure, islands, homes, and business costing a total of $40 billion in property damage.
Ian is not only one of the most costly hurricanes to make landfall in Florida, but it is the most deadly storm the U.S. has seen since Katrina made landfall in 2005. Ian took the lives of 109 Floridians.
The devastation of Hurricane Ian hit close to home for our Pure Healthcare family. Memory Treatment Centers and a partnered Pure Infusion Suites Clinic are located in Bonita Springs, Florida, servicing much of Lee county.
Many of our employees, their families, and our patients either had sizeable damage done to or lost their homes, cars, and belongings as a result of the hurricane.
