April Stowers, APRN, FNP-C, MSN, is one of the leading expert neurocognitive specialists and National Director of Education at Memory Treatment Centers in Bonita Springs, Florida. April is passionate about medical education and providing the highest quality care to patients. Her passion for education led her to precepting both undergraduate and graduate students as an adjunct professor at Florida Gulf Coast University in Estero, Florida.
April has experience in various medical specialties, such as cardiology, vascular surgery, primary care, and neurology. As a neurocognitive specialist, she currently specializes in cognitive dysfunction, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia at Memory Treatment Centers.
April was born in West Virginia and relocated to Southwest Florida in 2002. April has been in the medical industry for over 20 years. April earned her Master of Science in Nursing with focus in Family Nurse Practitioner at Purdue University in 2015 and her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at West Virginia University in 2002. April is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
April resides in Estero, FL and enjoys spending family time with her husband Chris, son Max, and daughter Morgan. As a family they are avid Star Wars fans and can often be found at Disney. They are members of the West Virginia University Alumni Association Gulf Coast Chapter and are often found a events cheering for the WVU Mountaineers. She and her daughter are active in the Gulf Coast Council of Girl Scouts. April is fluent in American Sign Language and grew up playing multiple musical instruments.
